Um den Papierverbrauch nachhaltig zu reduzieren und den Stromverbrauch weiter zu senken, ist seit Oktober 2022 das Druck- und Kopiersystem der UB umgestellt.
Gleichzeitig haben sich die Nutzungsmöglichkeiten Ihrer Guthabenkarten geändert.
Dies bedeutet im Einzelnen:
- Kopieren
Seit dem 1. Oktober 2022 besteht innerhalb der Universität Siegen keine Möglichkeit mehr, Aufsätze, Artikel, Dokumente usw. zu kopieren. - Drucken
In der Hauptbibliothek Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) und den Teilbibliotheken Hölderlinstraße (H), Paul-Bonatz-Straße (PB) und Unteres Schloss (US) stehen PC-Arbeitsplätze mit Drucker zur Verfügung, an denen direkt ausgedruckt werden kann.
Darüber hinaus ist weiterhin das Ausdrucken von Dateien auf einem USB-Stick (max. 16 GB, FAT-formatiert) möglich.
Bitte beachten Sie:
Sie müssen das Papier selbst mitbringen. Alternativ kann an allen Bibliotheksstandorten Druckerpapier zum Preis von 25 Cent pro 5 Blätter gekauft werden.
Der Druck selbst ist für alle Bibliotheksbenutzerinnen und Bibliotheksbenutzer kostenfrei.
Desweiteren bietet der AStA-Shop eine Möglichkeit zum Drucken an. - Scannen
Insgesamt stehen Ihnen in der Hauptbibliothek AR sowie in den Teibibliotheken H, PB und US zehn moderne Buchscanner zur Verfügung.
Farb-, Graustufen- und Schwarz/Weiß-Scans sind möglich. Die Speicherung erfolgt im PDF-, TIF- oder JPG-Format auf USB-Sticks.
– Hauptbibliothek AR: Insgesamt sieben Aufsichtsscanner mit Buchwippe und USB-Anschluss, darunter vier Geräte für A2-Formate.
Auf Ebene -1 befindet sich zudem ein Scanner, der von RollstuhlfahrerInnen bedient werden kann, da der Touchscreen neben dem Gerät angebracht ist.
– Teilbibliothek H: Ein Aufsichtsscanner mit Buchwippe und USB-Anschluss, an dem auch im A2-Format gescannt werden kann.
– Teilbibliothek PB: Ein Aufsichtsscanner mit Buchwippe und USB-Anschluss.
– Teilbibliothek US: Ein Aufsichtsscanner mit Buchwippe und USB-Anschluss. Großformatige Scans bis zum A2-Format können auf Anfrage gerne von den Kolleginnen und Kollegen in der Teilbibliothek angefertigt werden.
Das Scannen ist für alle Bibliotheksbenutzerinnen und Bibliotheksbenutzer kostenfrei. - Guthabenkarten – Rücknahme von Guthabenkarten – Erstattung des Pfandbetrages
– Die bisherigen Guthabenkarten können weiterhin für die Schließfächer in der Hauptbibliothek AR und der Teilbibliothek US genutzt werden.
– Bisherige Guthabenkarten können außerdem bis zum 30.09.2026 im ZIMT abgegeben werden. Das Pfand in Höhe von 5 Euro wird Ihnen erstattet.

– Main Library AR: A total of seven book scanners with book cradles and USB ports, including four devices for A2 formats. There is also a scanner on level -1 that can be operated by wheelchair users, as the touch screen is located next to the device.
– Branch Library H: A top view scanner with book cradle and USB port, which can also be used to scan in A2 format.
– Branch Library PB: A top view scanner with book cradle and USB port.
– Branch Library US: A top view scanner with book cradle and USB port. Large format scans up to A2 size can be made on request by the colleagues in the Branch library.
Scanning is free to all library users. - Prepaid cards – return of prepaid cards – refund of credit and deposit amount
– The previous prepaid cards can still be used for the lockers in the Main Library AR and the Branch Library US.
– Previous prepaid cards can also be returned to the ZIMT until September 30th, 2026. The deposit of 5 euros will be refunded.
