Seit April dieses Jahres gibt es die offizielle CampusApp der Universität Siegen, die „Uni Siegen App“. Nach und nach werden unterschiedliche Funktionen freigegeben.
Am Dienstag, 17. September 2024 folgt nun, zunächst nur für Studierende, der digitale Bibliotheksausweis. Dieser muss, falls Sie ihn nutzen möchten, einmalig für die Bibliotheksbenutzung freigeschaltet werden.
Einen Bibliotheksausweis benötigen Sie beispielsweise
- für die Ausleihe von Büchern und anderen Medien
- um im Katalog plus Ihr Benutzerkonto einsehen zu können
- um Fernleihbestellungen aufzugeben
Wie gehen Sie vor, um den digitalen Bibliotheksausweis für die Bibliotheksnutzung freischalten zu lassen?
- Bitte füllen Sie den „Antrag auf Zulassung zur Bibliotheksbenutzung“ mit dem Zusatz „Freischaltung der Uni Siegen App“ vollständig am PC aus.
- Bitte legen Sie den ausgefüllten, ausgedruckten und unterschriebenen Antrag an der Leihstelle der Hauptbibliothek AR oder in einer der Teilbibliotheken vor. Sie können ihn uns aber auch per Mail (benutzung@ub.uni-siegen.de) zusenden.
- Außerdem wird noch Ihr Personalausweis (bzw. Ihr Pass in Verbindung mit einer aktuellen Meldebestätigung) benötigt. In der Uni Siegen App müssen wir zudem Ihre Matrikelnummer sowie die Gültigkeit des elektronischen Studierendenausweises überprüfen.
- Die Freischaltung des digitalen Bibliotheksausweises für die Bibliotheksbenutzung erfolgt an Werktagen in der Regel innerhalb von 24 Stunden.
Bitte beachten Sie:
- Sobald der digitale Bibliotheksausweis in der Uni Siegen App für die Bibliotheksbenutzung freigeschaltet ist, wird Ihr bisheriger (konventioneller) Bibliotheksausweis oder Ihre USiCard ungültig und kann entsorgt werden.
- Der digitale Bibliotheksausweis funktioniert nach einmaliger Freischaltung bis zur Exmatrikulation, auch dann noch, wenn Sie die App auf einem neuen Smartphone installieren.
- Möchten Sie die Uni Siegen App nicht installieren, besteht weiterhin die Möglichkeit, für die Bibliotheksbenutzung einen konventionellen Bibliotheksausweis zu beantragen oder Ihre bereits freigeschaltete USiCard zu nutzen.

The official Campus-App of the University of Siegen, the „Uni Siegen App“, has been available since April of this year. Various functions are gradually being released. You will need a library card, for example
- to borrow books and other media
- to be able to view your user account in the Katalog plus
- to place interlibrary loan orders
How do you proceed to have your digital library card activated for library use?
- Please complete the form „Application for authorization to use the library“ with the addition „Activation of the Uni Siegen App“ on your PC.
- Please present the completed, printed and signed application at the circulation desk of the Main Library AR or in one of the branch libraries. You can also send it to us by email (benutzung@ub.uni-siegen.de).
- You will also need your valid identity card (or your valid passport together with an official registration of residence). In the Uni Siegen App, we also need to check your student registration number and the validity of your electronic student ID.
- The digital library card is usually activated for library use within 24 hours on working days.
Please note:
- As soon as the digital library card is activated for library use in the Uni Siegen App, your previous (conventional) library card or USiCard becomes invalid and can be disposed of.
- Once activated, the digital library card will continue to work until you are de-registered from the university register, even if you install the app on a new smartphone.
- If you do not wish to install the Uni Siegen App, you still have the option of applying for a conventional library card to use the library or using your already activated USiCard.
